Nothing convenient. Everything intentional.

From turmeric rhizome to dead sea mud, every ingredient in a Berü formulation has a purpose. Here’s what it does and why it matters.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal has been used in skincare for centuries, and for good reason. It cleanses gently without disrupting the skin's natural balance, strengthens the barrier that keeps it healthy, and carries antioxidant properties that help protect against everyday environmental damage. Mild enough for the most delicate skin, it is one of those ingredients that simply gets on with the job.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is magnesium sulphate in its simplest form — a mineral compound that has been used for centuries in both wellness and skincare. It works as a gentle physical exfoliant, lifting dead skin cells and buildup from the surface, while its detoxifying properties help draw out impurities from within. Used in a soak or bath, it is also known to ease tension in tired, aching muscles. Simple, effective, and deeply functional.

Aloe vera

Aloe vera is one of those ingredients that has earned its place in skincare honestly. It soothes irritated and inflamed skin on contact, making it particularly effective after sun exposure or sensitivity flare ups. Beyond surface relief, it supports the skin's natural healing process, helping it recover and repair over time. With consistent use, it also works quietly on the signs of ageing, supporting the skin's ability to stay resilient and firm. Reliable, gentle, and genuinely effective.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is extracted from the nut of the shea tree and is widely used in skincare for its deeply nourishing properties. Rich in fatty acids, it provides intense moisture that goes beyond the surface, helping dry and damaged skin recover and repair over time. Despite its richness, shea butter does not clog pores — making it a comfortable choice for a wider range of skin types than most butters. Nourishing without being heavy, it is an ingredient that earns its place in almost any formulation.

Almond

Almond is naturally rich in Vitamin E, making it a reliable source of antioxidant protection for the skin. It absorbs easily and sits lightly, delivering nourishment without any heaviness or residue — suitable for skin that needs care without feeling weighed down. Its anti-inflammatory properties help calm irritation and redness, while its effect on the complexion is quiet but noticeable — a more even, natural glow.

Coconut

Coconut is one of the most versatile ingredients in skincare, and its reputation is well deserved. Rich in fatty acids, it deeply moisturises and softens while its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties work beneath the surface — keeping bacteria at bay and calming redness and irritation. It also carries antioxidant properties that help shield the skin from everyday environmental damage, making it as protective as it is nourishing.

Gram Flour

Besan, or gram flour, has been a staple in South Asian skincare for generations — passed down through households long before it found its way into formulations. It gently exfoliates, lifting dead skin cells and drawing out excess oil without disrupting the skin's own balance. It works on sun tan and pigmentation, leaving the skin feeling noticeably smoother and softer.
